The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) is a three-day celebration of nature that features artwork, crafts and collectibles, live animals shows and more. Held in the downtown historic district of Charleston, the first exposition was held in February of 1983, with around 100 exhibitors and 5,000 people in attendance. The SEWE has only grown in the past thirty years into include over 500 exhibits and artists and now regularly has more than forty thousand attendees to its events.
This year’s events include:
Quick Draw/Speed Sculpt and Auction -the talented SEWE artists will have one hour to create a piece from start to finish. The finished products will be displayed for everyone to see before they are auctioned off. This event is being held on feb. 15th at Charleston Place.
DockDogs Competition Waves – Watch high-flying dogs launch themselves off the docks at Brittlebank park to catch a toy. Competitions will be taking place on 15th, 16th and 17th at 10 with the finals on Sunday the 17th at 4 pm.
Busch Wildlife Sanctuary Show- the staff of Busch Wildlife Sanctuary will be showing off some amazing animals and explaining about their habitats and life at the Charleston Music Hall on Sunday the 17th at 11 am and 3 pm.
